One of our receptionists will usually book you in for a consultation at a time that is convenient to you as we offer daytime and evening appointments.
If you are interested in a medical procedure such as Botox or Dermal Fillers you will be offered an appointment with Amanda. If it is skin treatments you are interested in, you will be booked in with Jasmine. If you are unsure what treatment you need, you will usually be booked in with Amanda to discuss your concerns and she will direct you from there.
Your treatment journey begins when you book an appointment to come for an initial consultation. We will take a few basic details over the phone when booking an appointment at a time that suits you, including evenings. You don’t need to know at this stage what treatment you want, or even if you want to go ahead – all clients start with an initial consultation with Amanda to discuss your concerns and how we are able to help.
A few days prior to your appointment you will get an appointment reminder email – this will outline what you are booked in for, who the appointment is with and what time the appointment is for. This will also include a link where you can confirm your attendance at the appointment. This is then followed up with a text message reminder the day before your appointment.
Once you have arrived at St Johns Court (where the clinic is based) just park on the free car park and come straight up to the clinic – there are signs outside directing you to the right entrance. One of our receptionists will welcome you to the clinic and show you the waiting area, and offer you a drink whilst you wait for your appointment. If you have any questions about finance options, prices or bookings then the reception staff will gladly assist you.
Botox at a glance
- Appointment time - 30 minutes
- No downtime
- Small red raised bumps for 10-15 minutes after
- Results gradual over 2-3 weeks
- Results last 3-6 months
- Can apply make-up soon after
- Avoid strenuous exercise for 4 - 6 hours after treatment
If you think you need Botox, you will probably be looking for a treatment that treats the upper face (forehead, frown lines and crows feet). You will be booked in with Amanda for a consultation. If you decide to go ahead with treatment we can book you in at a later date, or as a prescribing clinic with a medical director it is possible to go ahead with treatment at the time if enough time has been allocated to your appointment.
Your medical history
Amanda will take a detailed medical history, you will sign a consent form which Amanda will explain to you and then treatment will go ahead providing you are suitable for treatment. Ice is used to numb the area and prevent bruising and specially made botox needles are used which are tiny and ensure we keep you comfortable.
The appointment takes approximately 30 minutes and then you will have a follow-up appointment booked for 3 weeks. If you have any questions or concerns before your review appointment you are encouraged to get in contact and let us know but usually this is not necessary.
Treatment is quick, relatively pain-free and afterwards you can usually see small raised bumps where the Botox has gone into the skin, but these usually disappear after about 10 minutes and you can resume normal activities straight away. We just ask that you don’t do any strenuous activity for a few hours after to allow the Botox to settle in to the muscles.
You will see results start to appear over the next few days and after 3 weeks the full effects of your treatment can be seen. Amanda will photograph you before treatment so that we have a record before starting treatment. These pictures are confidential. You can apply makeup soon after and go about your usual daily activities or return to work.
Dermal Fillers at a glance
- Appointment time - 60 minutes
- Minimal or no downtime, dependent on area
- Immediate results
- Results last 9 - 18 months
- Makeup can be applied next day
If you are interested in Dermal Fillers and want to know about cheek fillers, tightening the jawline, lip fillers, any specific lines such as nose to mouth lines, you will be offered an appointment with Amanda. Again you may prefer to discuss everything with Amanda and decide what your best treatment options are, or you may wish to go ahead with treatment at the time if appropriate.
Your medical history
Amanda will take a detailed medical history, you will sign a consent form which Amanda will explain to you and then treatment will go ahead providing you are suitable for treatment.
The appointment may take up to an hour depending which area of the face you are having treated and the results are immediate. Some people prefer to arrange procedures such as lips which often swell for 24-48 hours when they have a couple of days off work or on a Friday before the weekend. For many treatments this is not necessary but Amanda will advise you.
All dermal fillers which Amanda uses are mixed with anaesthetic to make the treatment comfortable for you. Photographs will be taken to document the area being treated. If you have make-up on this will be removed and the area cleaned thoroughly. All treatments are relatively pain-free as Amanda always uses ice, anaesthetic where necessary and will ensure you are kept comfortable at all times. You will be invited back for a review appointment after a couple of weeks if necessary but again you are encouraged to contact the clinic sooner if you have any concerns.
Although Amanda will advise you before, areas such as the lips may swell after treatment, but some areas such as jawline rarely swell. You may apply make-up the next day. Again depending on which area of the face is treated, you may have slight swelling or bruising which can be covered with make-up. You can often resume normal activities immediately after treatment.
